It’s so easy to see how a volcano works when we cut it in half like this. I will post mine.

a)Crater
b)Conduit
c)Sill
d)Crust
e)Magma Chamber
f)Ash, smoke and rock
g)Vent
h)Dike
i)Mantle

Where Ofek had dirt and I had crust, I think it was because it looked like it could have been pointing to dirt and maybe not the crust layer. I also had vent and dike for g) and h). Vent is the opening hole where lava can come out the side of a volcano and the dike is like the tube thing the lava goes through to come out the vent.

Over and out.
SharniMiss Batehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01011049887108014685noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6209801847999669470.post-24470986918166840842007-05-29T00:40:00.000+10:002007-05-29T00:40:00.000+10:00Ofek,You have had an excellent try at labelling al...Ofek,
You have had an excellent try at labelling all of the parts on the Volcano Cross-Section.

Before I give out the answers, I would love it if you could re-look over d) g) and h) and make sure these are the correct answers!

Don’t forget to use the links I have given you.

Miss BateMiss Batehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01011049887108014685noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6209801847999669470.post-58818612243999969172007-05-29T00:37:00.000+10:002007-05-29T00:37:00.000+10:00I accept the task Miss Bate! =]From reading the de...I accept the task Miss Bate! =]
From reading the definitions and terms in the links you gave us, and also looking at the other cross-sections I think this is what belongs where.

a)Crater
b)Conduit
c)Sill
d)Dirt
e)Magma Chamber
f)Ash, smoke and rock
g)lava
h)Tunnel
i)Mantle

I know that the magma chamber is what holds the magma inside the volcano before the explosion, and that the magma chamber is in the mantle from what we learnt about the Earth’s layers.
